ArcelorMittal Steligence & SCIA join hands to present a technical webinar on the design of partially & fully encased composite columns according to Eurocode 4 rules.

In this joined webinar by ArcelorMittal Steligence and SCIA will bring you a technical deep dive on the design of partially encased & fully encased composite columns according to Eurocode 4 rules.

In the first part Riccardo will introduce the topic of composite columns, explaining the field of application and the main advantages of this solution. Particular care will be given to the constructive details to show are these elements are used in the current practice.

In the second part Jiří will explain how these members can be designed according Eurocode 4 provisions. It will be further showed how they are treated in the specific module of SCIA Engineer.

Jiří Porada is an experienced member of the SCIA development Team. He works as a Functional Analyst for more than 15 years and focuses primarily on the implementation of design and checks in SCIA Engineer. His main domains within the Eurocodes are combinations, design of connections and design of composite members.

Riccardo Zanon
Riccardo Zanon, Senior Structural Engineer. Passionate about the use of steel-concrete composite structures, he has dedicated his professional career to buildings & bridges of this typology dealing with applied research, project design and project follow-ups. He is member of European standardization committees related to steel-concrete composite structures. Riccardo is currently Head of Engineering at ArcelorMittal Steligence, Luxembourg.
